As co-owner of T Paul Sek Eco-Friendly Painting, Debbie Sek is a green painting expert and an advocate for the use of environmentally-safe painting and finishing techniques. Debbie studied Bio-Psychology at UCSC with special emphasis on Bio-Chemistry, a background which has helped her to understand the underlying chemical mechanisms and behaviors behind the new science of green painting.
Debbie leads a UCSC intern research team together investigating the environmental and health ramifications of using traditional painting materials. Debbie’s extensive research, coupled with her real-world experience in the use of eco-friendly techniques and materials in the workplace, has made a true impact on the health of her family and the lives of their clients. Debbie is a major advocate for green painting, giving lectures and speaking at events. She has founded a green-consulting business, EcoDesign Finishes, which is flourishing through her guidance of clients towards greener businesses and healthier lives.
